Meet Desiree Davis, MS, LPC-Associate

I earned my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lock Haven University in 2021. I spent my internship in the counseling department providing therapy to undergraduate counseling students. I found that I enjoyed working in this setting but had my sights set on private practice. I worked for two years in Northcentral PA in private practice settings, earning hours towards my Pennsylvania state licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). During this time, I met qualifications to be a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and pursued continuing education in Internal Family Systems, pregnancy and pregnancy loss, and ADHD treatments. I also found a love for couples counseling and working with couples to find common ground in their relationships.

In June of 2023 I moved from Pennsylvania to West Texas with my family. I began practicing under Jessica Bolden MA, LPC-S, CST, in September of 2023. I have begun earning hours in Texas to meet state licensure as an LPC with her as my supervisor. Currently, I only provide counseling in a telehealth format via our EHR System and I work with Teens, Adults, and Couples. I also work part-time at a domestic violence shelter working with survivors to overcome trauma and reclaim their own voice. In my free time I enjoy reading, listening to podcasts, and attempting yoga. I am also deep in the trenches of parenting while navigating life changes of moving halfway across the country.

I believe that clients are the authority on their own experience, it is not my job or within my ability to tell you if what you are doing is right or wrong or to provide answers that you must hear to meet your goals. I believe it is my job to help reflect yourself back to you and help you to break down barriers to your own goals. I believe in treating clients with positive regard in an empathetic and kind setting. I offer honesty, connection, and affirming care to help you to meet your own goals. In my therapeutic toolbox I have several counseling theories and techniques that I like to pull from. These include but are never limited to; Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS). I aim to make the process of therapy an easy one by offering a safe and understanding place to facilitate healing and trust in oneself.
